Every year Fair Shot Cafe offers 14 young adults with a learning disability the chance to gain real life work experience and progress into apprenticeships or other sustainainable employment
Our 14 trainees aged 16-24, work 4 days a week in the Cafe and 1 day a week back in the college for the educational side of the programme. The Traineeship Programme lasts for 1 year. Following the programme we will continue supporting them for up to 6 months into paid mainstream employment
How does it work?
During their time in the cafe our trainees get trained in barista skills, using the till, food prep, customer service, team working and much more.
During their time at college they build on their English, Maths, Digital and Interview skills.
What will I
Becoming part of Fair Shot's Traineeship Programme is pretty life changing. It will make you a confident and skilled worker and it will increase your employability. You will feel more independent with better financial inclusion and participation in society.
